I love field recordings. The best thing about them is not even neccessarily the recordings themselves but the experience of making them: when I'm walking around, knowing that I'm recording, I'm more aware of sound, and actually of all sensory information all around me.

In the year 2000, Brussels was the cultural capitol of Europe and an event called Cultural Resistance was organized by Guy Van Belle, who invited a variety of artists and thinkers like Ray Thomas of Rtmark and Agent Zai of Etoy. This is a speech/performance from that night given by Steev Hise of Detritus.net about "resisting the cooption of resistance."
